A smartphone app is all set to make life easier for senior citizens. It offers a plethora of services for the ‘ageing population’ — from mobility to matrimony.
One Big Family, developed by city-based Weso Technologies Pvt. Ltd., claims to be the first app in the world to offer such integration of services for the elderly.
According to founders Satish Chandra and Saranya Chandra, the app focuses on payments for utilities such as electricity bills, telephone bills and DTH, as well as emergency services, shopping, mobility and matrimony, among others. In terms of mobility, the developers have partnered with cab aggregators Ola and Uber. It offers concierge services as well which the founders said will be chargeable by the hour.

The company has about a dozen service partners.
While the company launched the app in Hyderabad on Friday as a part of the first phase, plans are afoot to reach Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kerala. A third phase of expanding its presence will include a launch in the UAE too.
The founders said the senior citizen population in India is over 59 million and the company is seeking to tap into a section of this. The company said it has raised $400,000 from internal sources.
