Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (KSIDC) launched Startup Cells on Tuesday at its Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi offices to provide assistance to start-ups. The cell will serve as a help desk for budding entrepreneurs. The Startup Cell can be accessed through dedicated telephone numbers (0471-2724812, 97450 17777 at Thiruvananthapuram) (0484-2321443, 97450 18888 at Kochi) and e-mail startupcell@ksidcmail.org.
The State Government and KSIDC have announced initiatives to make Kerala a preferred destination for young entrepreneurs. The Young Entrepreneurship Development Programme has received overwhelming response from youngsters in Kerala and is one among the identified key initiatives in the Mission 676 of the State Government, a press release said.
KSIDC is all set to organise Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES), the flagship event to establish Kerala as a vibrant entrepreneurial state, on September 12 (Kerala Entrepreneurship Day). The objective of the event is to create a platform where the young entrepreneurs can showcase their innovative ideas to academia and industry, says Aruna Sundarajan, managing director, KSIDC.
KSIDC is in the process of establishing a knowledge network, linking centres of excellence like Sri Chitra Thirunal Institute of Science and Technology, Tropical Botanical Gardens and Research Institute, Kerala University for Fisheries and Oceanic Studies and Amrita Institute of Science and Technology. Life Sciences Park, a project initiated by KSIDC, has already generated considerable interest among technically qualified professionals, the release said.
