The Department of Computer Applications of Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi,
organised a State-level intercollegiate meet, INFOSEA-22, on April 9. S.Krishnamurthy, Principal and P.K. Balamurugan, Vice Principal, offered felicitations. Eight technical events - Paper Presentation, Web Designing, Webugging Technical Dubsmash, E-Poster, E-advertishment and shortcut tricks - were conducted. As many as 195 students from 12 colleges participated in the meet. VHNSN College, Virudhunagar, won the overall winner shield. M.Guru Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, proposed the vote of thanks.

Selfie with ‘manjappai’
Selfie with ‘Manjappai’ programme, aimed at promoting the use of cloth bags by students, parents and public, and popularising the ‘Meendum Manjappai’ programme recently launched by the Chief Minister, with a ‘manjappai’ shaped poster and distribution of cloth bags to the public, was conducted in Arulmigu Palaniandavar College of Arts and Culture, Palani recently. N. Natarajan, Joint Commissioner of Dhandayuthapaniswamy Temple, R. Senthilkumar, Deputy Commissioner, and P. Prabhakar, Principal i/c, were present. NSS advisor K. Krishnamoorthy spoke on dangers of using single use plastic carry bags and their impact on our lives, soil and groundwater. The students and public took selfie photographs with the ‘manjappai’-shaped poster. The NSS volunteers distributed 500 cloth bags to the public and also took selfie photographs with them. Programme Officer K. Kannathasan and NSS volunteers had made the arrangements. R. Rathinasamy, Associate Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
Archaeological find at village
Faculty members of History department of Arumugam Pillai Seethai Ammal College, Tirupattur, conducted an archaeological field work at K. Vairanvanpatti. M. Illayaraja, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, gave the information about the appearance of earthenware on the surface of the field. The team unearthed a terracotta ring well and several archaeological artifacts, including potsherds, graffiti mark, terracotta beads, etc. The site lies on the northern bank of Palar river. The team pointed out that they got exposed when drainage work was carried out in the area. S. Kannan, Associate Professor of History, said these artifacts should belong to Iron Age and Sangam period (5th century B.C to 3rd century A.D). He said more things could be unearthed if systematic exploration and excavation were carried out in the site.
The college library and National Digital Library of India Club conducted a workshop on ‘Competitive exam preparation strategy and tips’ on April 9. KR. Jeyakumar, Principal, was present. K.Sakthivel, Tamilnadu Graduate Federation, Puthiya Parvai Academy, Madurai was the resource person.
