Students field questions in TNPL cricket quiz

Students from Velammal group of schools participated in a quiz competition on cricket here on Wednesday.

The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket league watched world over, conducted a brain teaser for students on cricket and its legacy and history.

Australian cricketer Brad Hogg took part in the finals of the event and encouraged students to take up sport with enthusiasm and gusto. He also welcomed questions related to cricket.

TNPL, telecast on various channels, encourages local talent. On several occasions, deserving players have gone on to play for a much larger tournament in a similar format: the Indian Premier League.

Student from Velammal Matric Higher Secondary School, Viraganoor, won the contest followed by The Velammal International School, Chennai. Velammal Vidyalaya, Viraganoor, came third. Aravinth was the quiz master for the event.
