Go Shala president ends fast

T.G. Rajaram Bhat, president, Amrutadhara Go Shala, Kairangala, ending his fast in the presence of Udupi Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swami after the police promised action in Mangaluru on Monday.

Amrutadhara Go Shala president T.G. Rajaram Bhat, who was on an indefinite fast for the last nine days demanding arrest of those involved in stealing cows from the Go Shala in Kairangala, ended his fast on Monday.

The end came after the police informed Mr. Bhat and others involved in the protest demonstration that two accused have been arrested and that the police also know about the whereabouts of the main accused.

They too would be arrested soon, the police said and urged the Go Shala administration to have faith in them, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya. The police also told the protesters that the entire administration was involved in preparations in the run-up to the Assembly elections and urged them to withdraw their demonstration, Mr. Hanumantharaya told

Following these words, Mr. Bhat decided to end the strike and consumed milk in the presence of Sri Vishwesha Teertha and RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.
