The Mangalore police are yet to take decision on the modalities of further investigation into the case involving Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of the banned Indian Mujahideen, registered in Ullal in 2008.
On Friday, a special NIA (National Investigation Agency) court in New Delhi granted custody of Yasin Bhatkal to the Karnataka Police in relation to blasts at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in April 2010. Mangalore Police Commissioner R. Hitendra said, “We have to decide whether to continue the investigation or hand over the case to the NIA. A decision will be taken in the next few days.”
Yasin Bhatkal was among the 12 persons booked in a case following recovery of explosive material from a house in Ullal on October 3, 2008.
