A cycle jatha was taken out in Udupi on Sunday to observe World Health Day. The Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Rotary Club Udupi-Manipal, the Udupi Union of Working Journalists, and the Indian Medical Association had organised the jatha from Martyrs’ Memorial in Ajjarakadu to the Board High School.

Speaking after flagging off the jatha, Udupi Deputy Commissioner M. Kurma Rao said that cycling helped to maintain fitness of both body and mind.

Mr. Rao and the Chief Executive Officer of Udupi Zilla Panchayat Y. Naveen Bhat participated in the jatha by cycling to about 2 km.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer H. Nagabhushana Udupa and other officials were present.
