Rajnath Singh asks BJP-TDP leaders to work together

The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders should work in coordination with Telugu Desam Party just as they are working as allies at the Centre, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said addressing the party cadre.

Speaking during a brief visit to the city party office here on Friday, the Union Home Minister called upon the party cadre to work towards expanding the organisational base of the party and asked the party leaders to work in such a way that there is no scope for anyone to believe that there are differences between the allies.

Telugu Desam Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and TDP City Unit president and Visakha South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar accompanying the former BJP national president during his visit to the party office assumes significance in view of the soon-to-be announced elections to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

BJP State president and Visakhapatnam MP Khambampati Haribabu and the Union Minister sharing the stage with Telugu Desam city leaders was done to send a signal to the party city cadre that the relations between the two parties was strong.

This was the first time in Independent Indian history that a non-Congress party had got a decisive majority in the Lok Sabha and it was only thanks to the unstinted efforts of the party cadre, Mr. Singh said and added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the country had gained respect in the comity of nations.

Exhorting the cadre to work for expansion of the party base, he pointed out that the party had launched the most number of socio and economic development and welfare schemes and asked the workers to take it to the people. The crop insurance scheme launched by the Prime Minister in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday would be immensely beneficial to farmers, the Union Minister said.

The schemes of the NDA Government for farmers would increase the income of the farmers, he added.

Party City president M. Nagendra, former presidents P.V. Narayana Rao, Prithviraj, state executive council member Narendra Prakash, senior leaders including, Ch. Ramakotaiah, P.V.N. Madhav, Subbarami Reddy, and party cadre thronged the party office to listen to Mr. Singh.
