Two teenagers, who went fishing in the Mandhappana Hosahalli lake near Bagalur, drowned here on Saturday afternoon.
The police identified the deceased as Dileep (17) and Girish (13).
Both, residents of the same area, had waded into the lake and could not stay afloat and started screaming for help. However, by the time people could reach them, the two boys had drowned.

Fire and Emergency services personnel along with police officials sent a team into the lake to recover the bodies of the two, .
A case has been registered by the Bagalur police.

The girl, aged 11, was standing near the school compound after her classes were over when the man had tried to assault her sexually. One of the school authorities who saw this, raised an alarm and the man ran away.
However, no one was able to identify the miscreant, said the HSR Layout police who have registered a case of attempted rape and are on the lookout for the accused.
Woman murdered A woman was found murdered at her residence in Amani Byrathi Khane in Hennur Bande on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Sonjita (21), native of West Bengal. She was residing with her husband Gangabagadi, carpenter, in a rented house belonging to one Iqbal.
Gangabagadi left home in the morning to go to work. When he returned home at night with his colleagues, he found the front door ajar. On entering the house, he found his wife’s body on the floor with the throat slit. Gangabagadi immediately alerted the house owner Iqbal, resident of Shivajinagar, and lodged a complaint with the Hennur police.
According to the police, said that Gangabagadi and his family had settled in the city a year ago. Previously residing in Varthur, they had moved to Hennur five days back. The police said that nothing was stolen from the house and suspect that the assailant could have been known to the victim.
The police have booked a case of murder, and are yet attempting to trace the assailant.
