Pavayil Fest begins

The second edition of the Pavayil Fest kicked off on the banks of Akalappuzha in Thalakkulathur on Tuesday.

The ecofriendly village tourism festival that spans a week has a lot of novelties this year. A zip-line between two islets across the waters at 40 ft height is a major attraction of the fest this year. A village of swings constructed by the local people is expected to attract many tourists. The village also incorporates other fun elements such as basket boats, floating gardens, special viewpoints to simply watch the river, sand pits and mini water falls.

The fest, which began with a torch rally in the morning, will conclude on April 9.
