The records of the telephone calls linking the prime accused in the killing of the T.P.Chandrasekharan to the leaders of the CPI(M) were produced before trial court here on Friday.
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Nodal Officer S. N. Ramesh , who is the 158 prosecution witness, submitted the details to R. Narayana Pisharadi, Judge, Special Additional District and Sessions Court (Marad cases) at Eranhipalam. The records related to the mobile phone calls made between the accused and the CPI (M) leaders including C.H. Ashokan, P.K. Kunhanandan and Jyothi Babu.
The case related to a gang hacking to death the RMP leader at Onchiyam on May 4, 2012. Mr. Ramesh was also examined in court on Friday.
The call records showed that the tower location of the mobile phone of Ashokan, secretary of the Onchiyam area committee of the CPI (M) was at Orakkateri between 3.16 p.m. and 4.40 p.m. on May 2, 2012.
This was the time when the accused had plotted the conspiracy at the flower shop of a CPI (M) leader M. K. Ravindran, at Orakkateri, according to the prosecution.
The tower location of the mobile phone of Jyothi Babu, Kunnothuparamba local committee member of the CPI (M), was identified at Chokli.
At that time Jyothi Babu was at Sameera Apartments , where the killers gang had conspired to kill Chandrasekaharan.
On the day Chandrasekharan was killed, the third accused and one of the assailants N.K. Sunil Kumar aka Kodi Suni had called P.K. Kunhanandan, member of the Panur area committee of the CPI (M) at around 4.45 p.m. The call lasted 64 seconds.
Besides, Kunhanandan, who was named 13 accused in the case had called the second accused and other hired killer Kirmani Manoj, at 11.36 p.m. on the same day and he had called Jyothi Babu at 6.55 a.m. the next day, Mr. Ramesh said.
The details of 700 incoming and outgoing calls were examined by the court. Most of the calls were that of K.C. Ramachandran, member of the Kunnummakkara local committee of the CPI (M), another accused in the case.
