Apple Founder Steve Jobs, who died aged 56, will be a great source of inspiration for generations to come, a top official of IT major Cognizant said on Thursday.

“In the sad demise of Steve Jobs, the world has lost a sterling technology visionary and entrepreneur who thought well ahead of his time, challenged conventions and stereotypes, and pushed the envelope of innovation like few others,” Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice-Chairman, Cognizant said.

In his condolence message, Mr. Narayanan said that more than the gadgets Jobs pioneered, his legacy will be the “sheer brilliance of the myriad ways in which he helped the world experience and appreciate its digital future with a sense of profound expectation and wonderment.” “As someone who almost single-handedly transformed the world of computing and redefined the concept of pocket devices, Jobs will continue to be a great source of inspiration for generations to come,” Mr. Narayanan said in the message released to the media here.
