Sena targets Pune entrepreneur over Pak. food festival

Updated - November 16, 2021 06:16 pm IST - Pune:

After the ink attack on Sudheendra Kulkarni for attempting to host the ‎book launch of former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri in Mumbai, the Pune unit of the Shiv Sena has now allegedly targeted young entrepreneur Tehseen Poonawalla on his social media page.

The Sena has threatened Mr. Poonawalla against organising a Pakistan Food Festival in Pune.

“We are in the process of organising a food festival as the route to the heart is through the stomach and we hope once the visa formalities are complete - we can have talented Pakistan chefs cooking in India,” he further said, adding that this was not the first time he had been threatened by the Sena.

Indignant about the threat, Mr. Poonawalla said he will be lodging a complaint with the Pune police.

According to him, the threat came from the account of Amar Bhosale, brother of the Shiv Sena's Pune unit president, Ajay Bhosale. Mr. Poonawalla has claimed that Amar Bhosale is a known history sheeter with several cases of murder and extortion against him.

“ Why must ‪#Pune‬ fear the Shiv Sena. I'm raising my voice and in a concrete way. On the 7th of November I'm hosting a Pakistan Food festival in my Pune. Chefs from ‪#Pakistan‬ will be cooking and I'm trying to get in touch with ‪#GhulamAli‬ ji's son. I would love it if GhulamAli sahab performs in my Pune on 7th Nov. I am going to stand up to these bullies the Shiv Sena,” wrote an angry Mr. Poonawalla in response to this threat.
