The State government will come out with a new education policy to unleash the power of Information and Technology and usher in a knowledge society, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday.
Interacting with a gathering of students at Nagulapalem in Parchur mandal during the ‘Badi Pilustondi’, Mr. Naidu said that the government would equip students with iPads so that they could read their study material including textbooks on their tablet computers. “Internet facility will be provided to every household to make best of technology,” he added.
Revealing his mind, he said he wanted to close down the dysfunctional social welfare hostels and in their place set up residential schools. He also mooted cluster schools by pooling the resources to establish best of common facilities for the benefit of students. He wanted all the stake-holders including teachers and students to come out with suggestions to improve the education system.

Four boys who had dropped out of school, were readmitted to a state-run school in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Nine key leaders of the AP Rythu Sangam were taken into custody on the eve of Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Prakasam district. The APRS had announced an agitation to press for a remunerative price for Bengal gram growers.

APRS district President P.Venkat Rao, Secretary D.Gopinath, APRS-led Kavulu Rythu Sangam State Secretary N.Ranga Rao were among those detained at Ongole, Jarugumalli, Kondepi, Kothapatnam, Nagulapupadu and Madipadu as a precautionary measure, police said. Later, four CPI(M) leaders including its city Secretary G.V.Konda Reddy were taken into custody for staging a protest at the Sagar centre, condemning the farmers’ detention.
