Asserting that no force can stop him from transforming Amaravati into a global city, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday instructed the officials of the AP-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) to firmly deal with those filing anonymous petitions with the World Bank (WB) through legal means and come up with an action plan by the next round of deliberations on works undertaken by the CRDA.
At a teleconference with the officials on Sunday, Mr. Naidu ordered that the projects be expedited lest the government should attract unwarranted criticism. He made it clear that there was no question of sparing ‘the vicious forces’ targeting capital city’s construction.
Mr. Naidu alleged that false complaints were lodged by the Opposition leaders with the World Bank to stall the promised funding to the projects. The Bank had committed to lend $300 million through an International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) project.

The CM said petitions were also filed before the National Green Tribunal, Supreme Court and the High Court to derail the capital city, and cautioned the people against persons trying to obstruct the development in the guise of farmers.
Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, CMO Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary (Infrastructure and Investment) Ajay Jain, Amaravati Development Corporation Chairperson D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy and CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar took part in the teleconference.
