Sindhu takes charge as Deputy Collector

First priority to be sports as of now

Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu on Wednesday said that she is happy to have a role in the Government of Andhra Pradesh on being appointed as Deputy Collector in the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) office under the Revenue Department.

“Today I have joined the government and would like to serve the nation. First priority will be sports as of now, and I will be playing for more years in the future,” she said addressing a brief press conference after taking charge. “I will do whatever it needs to serve the nation with the support of elders,” she said.

Asked about Olympics 2020 and other tournaments, Ms. Sindhu expressed confidence that she could bag the first position in Olympics 2020.
