Hectic last-minute parleys by Union Ministers with top brass of the BJP enabled the passage of AP Reorganisation Bill in Lok Sabha amid din on Tuesday.
According to BJP national executive member, N. Ramchander Rao the party gave first preference to discussion and passage of the Bill in an orderly manner in Parliament.
He said it was made clear to the ruling party that BJP would extend support for passing the Bill through voice vote only when there was no other alternative.
He said by playing its part well in the entire process, the BJP has sent a clear message to the people of Telangana that the Bill was passed because of the support by the party. In fact, the same was acknowledged by the Union Ministers, he added.
Meanwhile, celebrations broke out broke out soon after the Bill was passed at the BJP office here and the central party headquarters at 11 Ashoka Road, Delhi.State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, Mr. Ramchander Rao, party national general secretary Muralidhar Rao, legislators Nagam Janardhan Reddy and E. Lakshminarayana were among those who participated in the celebrations at central party office, Delhi. The activists and leaders distributed sweets and burst fire crackers.
