Two Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants were killed in an encounter in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday.

Locals said 22-year-old Langoo, who went missing in July this year, was the district's known footballer and his performance on the ground earned him many fans among the local youths.

The militants were trapped during a search and cordon operation in the Wanigam Payeen area of Baramulla in the morning. “The hiding militants opened fire on the search party, triggering an encounter,” the police said.
