Justice Banumathi recuses herself from jallikattu case hearing

Justice Banumathi first banned jallikattu during her tenure as Judge of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.

Justice R. Banumathi, on Tuesday, recused herself from hearing the jallikattu case in the Supreme Court.

Petitions seeking stay/quashing of batch of petitions have been shifted for hearing to a Bench led by Justice Dipak Misra.

Justice R. Banumathi had first banned jallikattu during her tenure as Judge of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.
