Karl Slym may have committed suicide

Updated - November 16, 2021 06:48 pm IST - Mumbai:

The investigation into death of Karl Slym, managing director of Tata Motors, indicate he might have committed suicide. Mr. Slym died after he fell off the 22nd floor of a Bangkok hotel on Sunday.

International media reports suggested that the suicide could have been the result of a discord between Mr. Slym and his wife Sally. She was travelling with Mr. Slym for Tata Motors’ board meeting in Thailand. The reports were based on a three-page suicide note that was found.

A Tata Motors’ spokesperson said the chief investigating office of the Thailand police had indicated that it was a case of suicide. The spokesperson said there was no decision on the succession plan, interim or long-term, at Tata Motors but a decision “could be taken soon”.
