The Rubber Board has decided to give the Prof. K.M. Chandy Memorial Award 2010 for the best rubber grower.
According to a press release, the award consists of Rs.1 lakh and a citation. The selection criteria include successful adoption of innovative ideas, subsidiary income-generation activities, input management skills, soil and water conservation, maintenance of accounts, labour management, linkage with development agencies other than the Rubber Board, fund management, etc. Those growers who have a minimum of 12 years of experience in rubber cultivation and have a minimum cultivation area of one acre but not exceeding 12.5 acres are eligible to apply for the award.
Applications should reach the respective regional office of the Board on or before November 1. Any technical/scientific officer of the Rubber Board or any Director Board Member of Rubber Producers' Society, Board's companies or Marketing Societies should recommend the application.
