A reception accorded to Suresh Gopi, MP, and BJP State president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai at the election convention of NDA candidate, K.Surendran, in Konni on Saturday evening.

There was every reason to suspect a collusion between the government and the Believers Church behind identifying the Cheruvally Estate as the site for the proposed Sabari Airport project, BJP State president P.S.Sreedharan Pillai said while talking to reporters at Konni on Saturday.

The BJP leader has further likened the words of the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to a leaking sack.

Mr. Pillai also stressed the need for new legislation in connection with the controversial women’s entry issue at Sabarimala.

Congress leaders V.M.Sudheeran and Oommen Chandy, have maintained different opinions on the issue of women’s entry at Sabarimala, he alleged.

Mr. Pillai said he had never stated, at any point of time, that the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena, a BJP ally, had traded votes in the recent Assembly bypoll held in Pala.

He said the BDJS has been engaged in active election campaign for the National Democratic Alliance candidates in all the five Assembly constituencies.

Addressing another election convention of the NDA candidate, K. Surendran, in Konni, the BJP State vice-president, G.Raman Nair, alleged that the State Ministers and MLAs were misusing the official machinery for the election campaign of the LDF candidate in Konni.

Mr. Nair said he would take up the matter with the Election Commission, soon.

Actor Suresh Gopi, actor and Rajya Sabha MP, took part in the road show and election conventon held in Konni town, later, in the evening.
