Three days after demanding a fresh enquiry into the Antrix- Devas spectrum deal, the former ISRO Chairman, G. Madhavan Nair, said he was yet to receive a response to his letter to the Prime Minister's Office.
“I am yet to receive any reply to my letter,” he told reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of a function here. “While urging for a comprehensive enquiry, I have also highlighted need to review the decision to scrap the deal.” The Department of Science should have also looked into the advantages of such spectrum allocation.
Referring to the government action of barring him from holding any government posts, Mr. Nair said procedures were not followed while taking the action. “There was no need for another enquiry at all after the Chaturvedi Committee. And the reasons cited for cancelling the contract are not accurate.”
According Mr. Nair, the scientific community had realised the inaccuracy in the government decision and hence protested the action taken against him and fellow scientists. “Let us hope the government will also realise these mistakes sooner than later.”
