Gujarat is witnessing heavy rains in a dozen districts causing floods and waterlogging in several parts of the State.

So far, nine persons have died in rain-related incidents across the State since Wednesday.

Several districts like Junagadh, Amreli and Jamnagar have received more than 100 mm showers in the past two days.

The State government has deployed one National Disaster Rersponse Force team in Junagadh in case of any flooding in the district.

As per the details shared by the State Emergency Operation Centre, more than 150 talukas in 20 districts have received torrential rains in South Gujarat, Saurashtra and North Gujarat.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted Torrent risk rains in parts of the State on Saturday also.

The State government has asked people not to venture out, avoid going near rivers and water bodies as fresh waters have caused flooding in low lying places.
