The Shiv Sena on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Mumbai against the new exam pattern introduced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and threatened to disrupt examinations in Maharashtra if Marathi was not included in the syllabus.
As per the new pattern, the candidates will no longer have to qualify in other language papers such as Hindi or regional languages, which include Marathi. Earlier, students had to qualify in English and another language paper.
“We want the government to rethink its decision. We will be meeting the officials in Delhi regarding the same. If our demand is not met, we will disrupt the exams in the State,” said Gajanan Kirtikar, Sena leader and president of the Sena affiliated Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti Mahasangh.

The Sena leader has made it clear that the party MPs will raise this issue against the government.
