Sedition case against Vaiko

Published - December 10, 2009 10:22 pm IST - Chennai

MDMK founder Vaiko, a vocal supporter of the LTTE, has been slapped with a sedition case for his recent remarks against India’s sovereignty during a book launch function here, police said on Thursday.

Cases under different IPC sections, including sedition, have been filed against Mr. Vaiko for his alleged remarks made a few months.

Mr. Vaiko had faced similar charges last year for a ’provocative speech’ at a rally at the height of the Sri Lankan Army’s offensive against the LTTE.

The MDMK leader was arrested last October and later released.
