Getting key certificates from the Revenue Department has been simplified. People can now walk into government common e-service centres set up across the district to apply for and receive the certificates.

After a pilot run in Tirupattur and Natrampalli taluks since 2013, the facility has now been extended throughout the district to 415 places.

Aiming to reach out to people closer to their homes, these centres have been established at 185 primary agricultural cooperative banks, village poverty reduction committees of Pudhu Vaazhvu Project at 207 panchayats in five blocks – Alangayam, Kandhili, Gudiyatham, Madhanur and Timiri, Collectorate and all taluk offices, a release said.

This was part of the government’s measures to computerise various departments. Now, issuing of certificates by the Revenue Department is being computerised.

With these e-service centres, people no longer need to approach the VAO or revenue inspector or tahsildar at the taluk offices to get the Revenue Department documents. They can approach the common e-service centres to get community certificate, nativity certificate, income certificate, first graduate certificate and deserted women certificate.

Collector R. Nanthagopal inaugurated the centres on Tuesday.
