The who’s who of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) occupied the front-row seats along with delegates attending the Global Investors Meet-2015 at what was being labelled an ‘enchanting night of culture and music’ at Hotel Leela Palace here on Wednesday.

Finance Minister and the former Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam was present along with his colleagues just before the ramp.

The government did not lose the opportunity to drive home the point that even while showcasing Tamil Nadu’s own art forms such as Bharatanatyam, there was no better State to invest in at the moment other than Tamil Nadu.

The organisers were not just showcasing the strengths of the State, or talking about availability of highly skilled labour, but they made it a point to reiterate that the investors would be a part of Tamil Nadu’s future as well.

Choreographed like a fashion show, the audience were taken through the evolution of Tamil Nadu from a barely-industrialised State to what it is today — 21 per cent of automobile production of the country takes place in Tamil Nadu, apart from the strides the State has made in textile and IT industries.

This sequence showcased how industries bloomed at every point in history with special emphasis on the role played by film, automobile, textile and IT industries in developing the State’s economy.

Renowned classical dancer Rukmini Vijay Kumar put up a fine performance for ‘Vande Mataram’ set to a peppy tune.

Chennai-based band Oxygen entertained the delegates as they enjoyed their cocktails and dinner.
