Foundation day celebrations of ESIC hospital commences

The fortnight-long celebrations in connection with the 63rd foundation day of ESI Corporation commenced at ESIC Hospital at Vannerpet here on Tuesday.

As part of the celebrations, the much-awaited maternity department was inaugurated as the insured beneficiaries hitherto had to go to tie-up hospitals for maternity services.

While Regional Board Member, ESIC, Kasi Viswanathan inaugurated the maternity department, Secretary of Tirunelveli District Small and Tiny Industries Association (NELSTIA) Sanjay Guna Singh inaugurated the labour room.

Moreover, as part of the celebrations, a cardiac screening camp was organised. Specialists from KIMS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, headed by cardiothoracic surgeon Fazil Azim screened the ESI patients. More than 500 insured persons participated in the camp.

Medical Superintendentof the hospital, Dr. Ravinder Kumar Sharma elaborated the medical services to be extended to the beneficiaries during the celebration that will conclude on March 10.
