Mumbai Police search Meiyappan’s house

Four sleuths of the Mumbai Crime Branch searched the house of Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of BCCI president N. Srinivasan, here on Sunday for eight hours and seized documents, visiting cards, envelopes and a diary.

They started the search at 9.40 a.m., going through the 11 rooms of the two-storey building.

They seized 365 envelopes and 1,400 CSK stickers, four CSK T-shirts, visiting cards bearing the CSK logo, Mr. Meiyappan’s name, e-mail id and phone numbers, a source in the Chennai Police said.

Around 6.10 p.m., the investigators came out of the house with the seized items and left in a car parked on the premises.

The Mumbai sleuths had been staying in the city for the past four days, the source said.
