Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLA A. Revanth Reddy, who was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Sunday night on charge of trying to bribe a nominated MLA for favour in Telangana MLC elections, was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days on Monday.
The Special Judge for ACB Court, however, allowed him to cast vote in the MLC elections, At around 9.30 a.m., the ACB officials accompanied by Hyderabad police teams took him to Telangana Assembly premises near Nampally so that he could exercise his franchise in the MLC elections.
Mr. Reddy, along with two others - Bishop Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha - was caught red-handed by the ACB officials when he went to the house of Elvis Stephenson (MLA nominated from Anglo Indian community in Telangana Assembly) and offered Rs. 50 lakh bribe to cast vote in favour of TDP MLC candidate.

A criminal case under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) – read with section 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code was registered against them. They were produced before the special court judge who remanded them in judicial custody.
Following the judge order, Mr. Reddy was taken to the Assembly amidst tight security. The MLA had went inside and voted. The Police shifted him to Chanchalguda prison after casting the vote in the MLC elections.
The ACB officials are on the look-out for another person Mathias Jerusalem, accused of first contacting the MLA and offering bribe.
