Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have decided to follow existing common web counselling process for engineering admissions, and the process of option entry for students to choose their choice of colleges and courses will be held from August 17 to 25.
The seat allotment would be done on August 30 and students have to report at the allotted colleges on September 1, which is the deadline fixed by the Supreme Court to start classes.
The Convenor of Engineering Admissions, Ajay Jain and Co-Convenor, Shailaja Ramaiyer representing A.P. and TS respectively, told reporters that all the necessary issues like issuing the GOs will be completed by August 15.
While the certificate verification for Telangana students will begin from Thursday, the process of choosing the web options will go on simultaneously from August 17. Rankers from 1 to 50,000 can exercise their options on August 17 and 18 followed by rankers from 50,001 to one lakh on August 20 and 21; 1,00,001 to 1.5 lakhs on August 22 and 23 and from 1,50,001 to the last ranker on August 24 and 25. Any modifications in web options will be allowed on August 26 and 27 and seat allotments will be done on August 30.
They said 330 colleges are in Single Window-I (Under Convenor) in Andhra Pradesh and 315 colleges in Telangana State. Information on Single Window-II and Single Window-III colleges was also sought from the Admission and Fee Regulation Committee (AFRC) and their counselling dates would be decided once the information is received.
Meanwhile, 26,078 candidates attended certificate verification in Andhra Pradesh out of the 43,522 candidates from the region among the top 75,000 rankers.
