Uttar Pradesh government transfers IPS officers; Lucknow gets new commissioner

The Police Commissioners of Lucknow and Prayagraj are among the transferred officers in a major post-election bureaucratic reshuffle

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle after the recently concluded Lok Sabha election, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday transferred the Commissioners of Police of Lucknow and Prayagraj.

Additionally, 14 other Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have also been transferred.

S.B. Shiradkar, an IPS officer of the 1993 batch holding the post of Lucknow Commissioner of Police is transferred as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Lucknow zone. Amrendra K. Sengar, an IPS officer of the 1995 batch, takes over as the Lucknow Police Commissioner.

Tarun Gauba, an IPS officer of the 2001 batch, is posted as the Prayagraj Police Commissioner, with the incumbent Ramit Sharma, an IPS officer of the 1999 batch, made ADGP, Bareilly zone. 

In other key transfers in the U.P. Police, Prashant Kumar, Inspector General (IG) in the Economic Offences Wing has been made IG, Lucknow Range.

The IPS officers who have been transferred include B.D. Paulson, Rajesh Dwivedi, Yamuna Prasad, Prem Chandra Meena, Prakash D., J.N. Singh, L.V. Antony, Dev Kumar, Vidya Sagar Mishra, Binod Kumar Singh, K. Satya Narayan, and Raghubeer Lal.
