Even as Suresh Raina, back from the break, recalled the time spent at the Green Park, he also looked ahead and assessed Gujarat Lions’s chances against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League match here on Thursday.

“The tournament has been close so far. All the games are important and so is tomorrow’s. We are at a stage where any team can qualify and that makes the IPL very interesting. It is going to be the first match here under floodlights and we (both teams) are in the same boat. We have to work hard on our game and not take things for granted,” said the Gujarat Lions skipper.

He became nostalgic about the venue. “I have played lot of cricket here. I remember my under-19 days, the time spent in the sports hostel. I have lot of memories attached to the Green Park.”

The pitch, Raina observed, should be well prepared for the match. “It is going to be challenging for both the teams. We have a young side and have to give our best. I don’t carry the worries of the previous match. I have learnt it from seniors (Rahul Dravid and M.S. Dhoni). Hope we have a good contest.”
