Huge support will make football win: Nita Ambani

Overwhelmed at the build-up to the Indian Super League, the founding chairperson of the tournament Nita Ambani on Saturday said football, ultimately, will be the winner in the country with the huge support it’s getting.

“It’s going to be a long journey but we all are going to support football. In the end the support will make football win,” Nita told reporters after visiting the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan on the sidelines of the opening ceremony dress rehearsal.

Nita, who was accompanied by son Anant, performed aarti near the dugout and was joined by Atletico de Kolkata co-owners Sourav Ganguly, Utsav Parekh among others.

Also the co-owner of IPL side Mumbai Indians, Nita said: “I’m here as supporter of any sport. We must make India a sporting nation for the youth of the country. Any sport is welcome. I support all sport especially sports for children and grassroots development promoting through ISL.”

Nita along with her mother-in-law Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani and Anant were first to touchdown ahead of tomorrow’s grand opening ceremony that will witness the creme de la creme of Bollywood, cricket and business world besides the stars of world football.
