The Indian kayaking and canoeing team made its presence felt after a host of national kayakers, including Albert Raj Selvaraj, made it to the semifinals of the singles and team events here on Saturday. Selvaraj clocked 15.306 in the 1,000m men’s heat to make the final-four of Kayak single.
Gaurav Tomar also kept himself in the running as he qualified for the semifinals of the canoe single after clocking 17.160 in the 1,000m heat.
In canoe men’s double, the Indian pair of Ajit Kumar Sha and Raju Rawat clocked 11.606 in the 1,000m heat to book a final-four spot.

In kayak double, the Indian duo of Sunny Kumar and Chingching Singh Arambam covered 1,000m in 3.606 to move into the semifinals. The pair also made the kayak double in 2,000m.
In kayak four, Singh Ajit Sunny, Ramesh Golli and Arambam timed 14.031 in the 100m heat to make the semifinals. Golli also made it to the 200m kayak single last four. Jamesboy Singh Oinam surged ahead in the canoe single clocking 3.669 in the 200m heat.
Indian women also did not disappoint as Biju Anusha made it to the kayak single semifinals after clocking 16.063 in the 500m heat. She also entered the last-four in 200m single. The pair of Ragina Kiro and Nanao Devi Ahongshangbam made the kayak double 500m semifinals.
